GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

  • The global software product industry is currently valued for $511 billion, of which India’s share is $8.1 billion but the objective is to take India to $80-90 billion by 2025
  • To promote the creation of a sustainable Indian software product industry,driven by intellectual property (IP), leading to a ten-fold increase in share of
    the Global Software product market by 2025.
  • To nurture 10,000 technology startups in software product industry, including 1000 such technology startups in Tier-II and Tier-III towns & cities and
    generating direct and indirect employment for 3.5 million people by 2025.
  • To create a talent pool for software product industry through (i) up-skilling of 1,000,000 IT professionals, (ii) motivating 100,000 school and college students and (iii) specialise 10,000 professionals that can provide leadership.
  • To build a cluster-based innovation driven ecosystem by developing 20 sectoral and strategically located software product development clusters
    having integrated ICT infrastructure, marketing, incubation, R&D/test beds and mentoring support.
  • In order to evolve and monitor schemes & programmes for the implementation of this policy, NASCAP Chapter has been created with
    participation from Government, Academia and Industry.

c) Vice-Chairman of BSA India Committee (www.bsa.org) working with Policy-makers & Industry forums like NASSCOM , FICICI etc. for IP Advocacy.
d) Working with Cross-functional teams to run Marketing & Segement specific Programs, profitably.
e) Team player with strong ability to build, binds, coach and drive teams (direct sales team & channel partners) to meet organization goals.

Dr Pinaki Ghosh has over 25 years of experience in Technology and around 15 years of experience in IP and Innovation. Currently, he is a Senior Advisor at KPMG, India. He is also an IPR Chair Professor at the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences.

He has rich experience in legal analysis and research on various patent-related matters.

Earlier, he was visiting faculty at IIT, Kharagpur for Intellectual Property Rights.

He had worked as a scientist in the Indian missile program in the DRDO under the late Abdul Kalam, who subsequently became the President of India.

He was a senior scientist in GE Medical Systems Defense Research (India) and had held a managerial position in IP in GE Medical, India (IP and Innovation).

Still earlier, in 2005, as Head of IP in Infosys, he developed and institutionalized several IP guidelines, policies and processes in Infosys.

He has been an in-house IP expert to several large conglomerates, such as GE, IBM, Reliance.

Dr Ghosh is a member of the CII National Committee on Technology and IPR and National Committee of Intellectual Property Owners and the core committee member of IP of CII, FICCI and ASSOCHAM.

Dr Ghosh holds Master Degree in Mathematics from IIT, Kharagpur. His PhD in Image Processing is from Indian Statistical Institute and Jadavpur University. He is also a Postgraduate in Patents Law from National Law School, Bangalore.  He is pursuing a 2nd PhD in Law. He is Six Sigma Black Belt certified.

He is an inventor/owner of 26 patents.

He has published 20 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, contributed 2 book chapters, and has made over 50 presentations as an invited speaker in national international IP related conferences.
